What are the next steps in your career? Can we expect any upcoming projects in film or television?
I've always been drawn to filmmaking. I'm writing my first short film, in which I'll act, produce, and direct. It's a big challenge for me, but I'm excited about it.
Quais são os próximos passos na sua carreira? Podemos esperar por novos projetos no cinema ou na televisão?
Sempre fui atraída pelo cinema. Estou escrevendo meu primeiro curta-metragem, no qual vou atuar, produzir e dirigir. É um grande desafio para mim, mas estou empolgada com isso.
Yany, your career has taken you across several countries. What was it like starting out in Mexico and then expanding your work to Spain and now Colombia?
This year, two films in which I star are being released. The film "Madre , a dos centímetros de ti", in which I co-star with Mónica Bardem, is directed by Desiree Díaz Silva. It is currently on a festival tour in the Dominican Republic.
And in June of this year, director Pável Giroud's film "Comandante Fritz" will premiere at the Munich International Film Festival.
Yany, sua carreira te levou a vários países. Como foi começar no México e depois expandir seu trabalho para a Espanha e agora para a Colômbia?
Este ano, dois filmes dos quais sou protagonista estão sendo lançados. O filme "Madre, a dos centímetros de ti", no qual contraceno com Mónica Bardem, é dirigido por Desiree Díaz Silva e está atualmente em turnê por festivais na República Dominicana.
E em junho deste ano, o filme "Comandante Fritz", do diretor Pável Giroud, estreará no Festival Internacional de Cinema de Munique.
You gained a lot of recognition with the Netflix series Sky Rojo. What did that project mean for your career?
My dream has always been to see the world; it's a pleasure and a privilege for me that my profession allows me to do so. Working in different countries has been motivating and extraordinary. It's been a fundamental part of my artistic and personal growth and ambition. I feel more free professionally, but above all, personally, after living and continuing to live this experience. I'm forever grateful for this and for everything else that acting gives me.
Você ganhou muito reconhecimento com a série da Netflix Sky Rojo. O que esse projeto representou para a sua carreira?
Meu sonho sempre foi conhecer o mundo; é um prazer e um privilégio para mim que minha profissão me permita isso. Trabalhar em diferentes países tem sido motivador e extraordinário. Foi uma parte fundamental do meu crescimento artístico e pessoal, e da minha ambição. Sinto-me mais livre profissionalmente, mas, acima de tudo, pessoalmente, depois de viver e continuar vivendo essa experiência. Sou eternamente grata por isso e por tudo mais que a atuação me proporciona.
In the series And They Came at Night, you worked with Eugenio Derbez. What was that experience like, and what stood out the most to you about the project?
Sky Rojo was the series that allowed me to take a big step in my artistic career. It was the first Netflix series I starred in, and I'm grateful for having had this opportunity. The success of any project is determined by a good script, good direction, good casting, a good cast of actors, among other things; but above all, the success of a project is determined by the viewer. We owe everything to them because we do everything for them.
Na série And They Came at Night, você trabalhou com Eugenio Derbez. Como foi essa experiência e o que mais se destacou para você nesse projeto?
Sky Rojo foi a série que me permitiu dar um grande passo na minha carreira artística. Foi a primeira série da Netflix da qual fui protagonista, e sou grata por ter tido essa oportunidade. O sucesso de qualquer projeto é determinado por um bom roteiro, uma boa direção, um bom elenco e bons atores, entre outras coisas; mas, acima de tudo, o sucesso de um projeto é determinado pelo público. Devemos tudo a eles, porque fazemos tudo por eles.
As a Cuban actress living and working in different countries, how do you navigate the cultural and artistic differences in each place?
I have the time and desire to do this reality show, "Top Chef VIP." I think it's a good challenge for me. I like cooking, and it would be a fun and challenging adventure. In fact, I think we're in the era of reality shows, and maybe it's because audiences feel closer to their favorite artists or personalities in some way.
Como atriz cubana vivendo e trabalhando em diferentes países, como você lida com as diferenças culturais e artísticas de cada lugar?
Tenho tempo e vontade de fazer esse reality show, o Top Chef VIP. Acho que é um bom desafio para mim. Gosto de cozinhar, e seria uma aventura divertida e desafiadora. Na verdade, acho que estamos na era dos reality shows, e talvez seja porque o público se sente mais próximo de seus artistas ou personalidades favoritas de alguma forma.
You've acted in soap operas, action series, and now a reality show. Is there a format you enjoy the most or find the most challenging?
I've realized that culturally, there's always something that unites us. I believe we're all mixed race; we're created from a mixture of cultures, races, and traditions that make our identity extraordinary. As an artist, I'm constantly learning, and it's motivating to learn about other art forms, other methods of interpretation, and to feel artistic passion without sometimes needing to understand the language. Art in general is pure magic and nourishes me, and I enjoy it.
They're all challenging, and that's what's exciting about it. But the truth is, I've never done musical theater, and it's something I'd love to do. I love Chicago the Musical, Tina Turner, Hamilton, and many others. I think it would be an artistic challenge for me and a dream come true.
Você já atuou em novelas, séries de ação e agora em um reality show. Existe um formato que você mais gosta ou que considera mais desafiador?
Percebi que, culturalmente, sempre há algo que nos une. Acredito que todos nós somos mestiços; somos criados a partir de uma mistura de culturas, raças e tradições que tornam nossa identidade extraordinária. Como artista, estou constantemente aprendendo, e é motivador conhecer outras formas de arte, outros métodos de interpretação, e sentir a paixão artística sem, às vezes, precisar entender o idioma. A arte, em geral, é pura magia, me nutre, e eu a aproveito.
Todos são desafiadores, e isso é o que torna tudo empolgante. Mas, na verdade, nunca fiz teatro musical, e é algo que adoraria fazer. Amo Chicago – O Musical, Tina Turner, Hamilton e muitos outros. Acho que seria um desafio artístico para mim e a realização de um sonho.
Tell me how to really combine modeling, family and vocal career?
I am often asked: "How do you manage to be both a mother and a singer?". I answer: one does not interfere with the other! It's a balance. I divide my time between family and work, I try to get enough sleep and rest if possible, I calm my nerves: usually with the help of books and articles, because I don't have a psychotherapist. It all helps me keep my balance.I am a very happy person because I enjoy doing what I love. If it was some kind of commitment, then I would have gathered my strength. However, when I write songs or perform, on the contrary, I rest. For example, now my musicians and I are preparing an acoustic program. My tracks will sound new because we will only play traditional instruments: we have drums, keys, saxophone, guitar, bass guitar - and it's just incredible. In other words, it is the opposite: thanks to this, I have strength.
Diga-me como realmente combinar modelagem, família e carreira vocal?
Muitas vezes me perguntam: "Como você consegue ser mãe e cantora ao mesmo tempo?" Eu respondo: uma coisa não interfere na outra! É um equilíbrio. Divido meu tempo entre a família e o trabalho, tento dormir o suficiente e descansar quando possível, acalmo meus nervos: geralmente com a ajuda de livros e artigos, porque não tenho um psicoterapeuta. Tudo isso me ajuda a manter meu equilíbrio. Sou uma pessoa muito feliz porque gosto de fazer o que amo. Se fosse algum tipo de compromisso, então eu teria reunido minhas forças. No entanto, quando escrevo músicas ou me apresento, ao contrário, descanso. Por exemplo, agora minha equipe e eu estamos preparando um programa acústico. Minhas faixas terão um som novo porque tocaremos apenas instrumentos tradicionais: temos bateria, teclados, saxofone, guitarra, baixo - e é simplesmente incrível. Em outras palavras, é o oposto: graças a isso, tenho força.
Who chooses your images and is it difficult to appear in public in new images every time? Do you work with designers?
For many musicians, memorable stage costumes are a way to reveal a musical idea, make an original show, shock the audience and live another life in a new image. Co-authors of spectacular performances are often designers who help bring fictional characters to the stage. They create costumes for concert tours, as well as outfits for music videos. Before my team and I came up with the concert show "Angela Show", I was dressed by European designers for Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. These are very expensive designers and they do not cooperate with all models. At one of these shows, I was dressed in angel wings and many viewers liked it very much. After that, I actively use different colored wings in my stage image.
Quem escolhe suas imagens e é difícil aparecer em público com novas imagens toda vez? Você trabalha com designers?
Para muitos músicos, trajes de palco memoráveis são uma maneira de revelar uma ideia musical, criar um show original, chocar o público e viver outra vida em uma nova imagem. Co-autores de performances espetaculares são frequentemente designers que ajudam a trazer personagens fictícios ao palco. Eles criam trajes para turnês de concertos, bem como roupas para videoclipes. Antes de minha equipe e eu criarmos o show "Angela Show", eu era vestida por designers europeus para a Paris Fashion Week e a Milan Fashion Week. São designers muito caros e que não colaboram com todos os modelos. Em um desses desfiles, eu estava vestida com asas de anjo e muitos espectadores gostaram muito. Depois disso, passei a usar diferentes asas coloridas em minha imagem de palco.
Tell us about the new song "In Love"?
The song is perfect for relaxing this summer and can become a hit on playlists. This song is about the feeling of love, which acts as a salvation from loneliness and the stresses of the modern world, which changes every second. The track is designed so that listeners can escape from everyday life and immerse themselves in the world of love when you fly like you have wings.

A música é perfeita para relaxar neste verão e pode se tornar um sucesso nas playlists.
